We are a mix of academics, NGOs and concerned individuals with an extensive knowledge of human rights, trade, public health, health and trade and civil society activism between us. HaT members are united by the drive to achieve the overarching mission and vision of the organization: a world where trade does not harm human health.

Our vision

Our vision is no less than a world where trade agreements are designed to support strong health and social protection measures: A world of healthy trade agreements.

Focus areas

Trade agreements affect how governments manage our healthcare services, provide treatment and regulate against harmful products. Our network provides expertise on a range of areas, including tobacco and alcohol control, pharmaceuticals and the Sustainable Development Goals.

How to become a member

We accept membership applications from any public health advcocate or organisation with an interest in improving trade policies and trade experts or organisations with an interest in health. We are especially happy about new members from the Global South.
