HTI’s Big Debut at the Expo
This year marks something special for us. It’s our first time exhibiting at the National Reptile Breeders’ Expo! Over the last few months, we’ve been working hard on several fronts. Getting more businesses signed up for our certification program has been a big focus. Meanwhile, we’ve also been fundraising for our adoption program and trying to spread the word about HTI!
Consequently, we’re bringing our whole story to the expo. That includes certification details, program updates, and answers to every question you might have about healthy trade practices!

Our Adoption Program Launch
Speaking of new developments, just last month we officially launched our nationwide adoption program! And the response has been incredible. Ruby, our first adopted bearded dragon, has become quite the ambassador for what we’re doing. (She’s thriving in our program right now!)
Additionally, it’s worth noting that ours is the first program of its kind to accept reptiles and amphibians across state lines. What also makes our program unique is HTI’s partnership with the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. Every animal gets a complete veterinary health verification before placement. As a result, Ruby’s story shows how well this system works when done right!
Building Connections at the National Reptile Breeders’ Expo
Trade shows create incredible networking opportunities for HTI to strengthen partnerships with industry leaders, conservation organizations, and educational institutions. And these connections help advance our mission of preventing thousands of yearly pet releases – while ensuring rescued animals get professional health assessments.
During the expo, we’ll show how voluntary industry standards can prevent government regulation while promoting ethical business practices. Our focus is on practical solutions that benefit businesses through:
- Reduced animal losses from preventable diseases
- Increased customer confidence in healthy animals
- Access to certified pathogen-free pets
- Professional consultation when health issues arise
The Future Starts Here!
Events like the National Reptile Breeders’ Expo aren’t just about what’s happening today – they’re where tomorrow’s breakthroughs begin. When passionate people gather to share research-backed disease prevention methods, sustainable breeding approaches, and conservation-minded trade policies, real change happens. The conversations that start at tables like ours often become the industry standards of the future! Listen to what one of our business members, Josh’s Frogs, said about the Healthy Trade Institute. If you care about responsible animal care and ethical trade practices, this expo gives you a front-row seat to see where our industry is headed. We’re particularly excited to hear what ideas and questions you bring to Table 614. Those conversations are exactly what will shape the next chapter of healthy herp trade – come find us!
